Crowds gathered across Washington state over the weekend for No Kings Protest 3.0, part of a continuing grassroots movement opposing authoritarianism and calling for expanded civil rights protections.
Turnout was strongest in major population centers, including Seattle, Olympia, Edmonds, and others, where crowds filled downtown plazas and marched along main thoroughfares. Smaller gatherings were also reported across many suburban and rural communities, including Leavenworth and Cashmere.
The protests were intended to draw attention to concerns about government overreach, threats to democratic institutions and ongoing debates over civil liberties.
In Seattle, officers monitored marches through the downtown corridor and near the Capitol Hill neighborhood, directing traffic as crowds moved through intersections. In Olympia, protesters assembled near the state Capitol campus, where speakers addressed issues related to state and federal policy. In eastern Washington, participants in Spokane gathered in public parks before marching through the city center.
Counterprotests were limited, and no significant clashes were reported as of late Sunday.
