This Walkable Washington Coast Town Feels Straight Out of a Movie

If you’ve ever dreamed of a beach town that feels like a Hallmark movie set, Seabrook delivers. Nestled on 88 acres of coastal land just 2.5 hours from Seattle, this New Urbanist community blends Pacific Northwest charm with small-town warmth.

Home Base

Our stay at Beach Hair, Don’t Care – a family-friendly vacation rental with oceanfront views and a porch perfect for morning coffee – set the tone: easy, unhurried, and full of character. The décor leans coastal‑casual with soft textures, warm woods, and just enough nautical touches to remind you that you’re only a few steps from the beach.

From the moment you step inside, the home feels like a retreat built for unwinding. The open‑concept living area is bright and airy, with large windows framing the ocean and a fireplace that instantly sets the mood for storm‑watching or board‑game nights. Everything is provided – from comfy linens to blankets in every room and game consoles readily available for the kids (and the kids at heart).

The home’s bedrooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged for families or groups. Plush bedding, ample storage, and calming color palettes make it easy to sleep in – or sneak in an afternoon nap after a long beach walk.

There is an entire upstairs living area with everything you’d need to relax as a pre-teen with your bestie (for real: our daughter and her bestie called it before we even got the luggage through the door). Speaking of the door, we met a friend on our way into the property – and he was a cutie!

The home is right across from the wooded area, so it’s entirely possible to see creatures in their natural habitat while soaking in the hot tub or cooking on the gas grill on the covered porch out back. You almost never want to leave the property! But then you remember the two community pools (one indoor and one outdoor) that are only steps away.

Morning Vibes & Walkability

Seabrook’s pedestrian-first design means you can stroll from your rental to the beach, shops, and restaurants without a car. If you have a car, that works, too, as there is ample free parking throughout the quaint community.

Trails connect neighborhoods, and the beach itself is a highlight – though the water isn’t swimmable, the sand, tide pools, and seashells are pure magic. There are some stairs to get down to the beach, but a couple of places to stop along the way make the trek more manageable. It’s worth the wait when you get there (and, if accessibility is a hindrance, the views from above are spectacular).

Shopping & Dining

Town Center is a mix of boutiques, home goods, restaurants, and coastal apparel. We especially loved Mr. Walrus – one of Seabrook’s most delightful surprises! Mr Walrus is packed with personality: shelves of nautical décor, locally crafted goods, whimsical gifts, and beach‑inspired home accents that make you want to redecorate your entire house in shades of seafoam and driftwood. It’s the kind of place where you wander in “just to look” and walk out with a charming mug, a handmade candle, or a perfectly cheeky souvenir that captures Seabrook’s playful spirit.

We decided to make s’mores one of the evenings we visited Seabrook and needed a few essentials. Thankfully, there was a grocery store nearby with everything we required. The Market is open daily from 8am to 8pm (October-March) and from 8am to 9pm (April-September). The grocery store is family-owned and we love it even more for that.

In Town Center, there’s a bookstore, toy store, cafes, multiple apparel shops, bike rentals, a spa, and even a little arcade for extra fun right in town. Pro tip: You can hit the arcade or make a candle at Lorraine’s while you wait for a spot at one of the enviable restaurants nearby!

Wine & Dine

The Stowaway Wine Bar feels like the kind of place you wander into for a quick glass and end up staying long enough to watch the fire burn low. Its atmosphere is anchored by a glowing fireplace and a wall of wine that’s genuinely impressive: more than 4,000 bottles and 500+ varieties, all arranged in a way that invites slow browsing and serendipitous discovery.

The menu of comforting, well‑paired bites is pleasantly designed to complement whatever you’ve poured. Whether you’re sipping something crisp and coastal or a deeper, moodier red, the staff seems to have a knack for guiding you to the right match without any pretense.

Between the barrel‑lined décor, the easygoing Pacific Beach energy, and the sense that every visit might introduce you to a new favorite bottle, The Stowaway makes lingering feel like part of the experience.

Events & Community

Seabrook’s calendar is packed with seasonal happenings. Coming up on June 6, 2026, is Seabrook Pride, which promises a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, music, and community spirit. You’ll find delicious eats from visiting food vendors and booths featuring local makers, crafts, art, and Pride-themed merchandise.

Seabrook Pride is a fabulous way to experience the town’s inclusive, welcoming vibe with family, neighbors, and new friends. The festivities run from 10am to 3pm. Evenings often end with live music or shared dinners under the stars.

Seabrook isn’t just a beach getaway – it’s a place where you can slow down, connect with neighbors, and create memories without the noise of city life. Whether you’re here for the beach walks, the boutique shopping, the wine bars, or the upcoming Pride festivities, it’s a destination that works for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.
